Chalet Croix Blanche

Welcome to the Chalet Croix Blanche Website!

Chalet Croix Blanche was built in 2012 to provide a high quality self catered Swiss chalet experience. It is our home away from home and it has been designed to incorporate our ideas. It has been developed to an exceptionally high standard by Immobilien Stehlin - a local company based in Visp, Switzerland, with a long and successful track record. The Chalet incorporates a high spec Poggenpohl kitchen, 5 bedrooms, with Ergoflex® memory foam mattresses and en-suite bathrooms, and a spacious, open plan living area.

My Image

Chalet Croix Blanche is a traditional style chalet with a larch wood exterior finish and a stone roof. Its huge windows, wide balconies and spacious terraces offer breathtaking views up the valley to the spectacular Grande Dixence dam and to the North and East across the Alps. As the chalet is South East facing, it captures the sun from the morning through to late afternoon. The chalet has WiFi and internet access and every bedroom is equipped with a TV with access to our own media library and satellite channels. The chalet is being marketed by Alpen Chalets and can be found on: Alpenchaletsbooking

My Image

The chalet sits at 1550m in a small and quiet mountain village called Les Masses in Val d’Herens. The chalet is around three hundred metres from the Les Masses ski lift which has been upgraded to a high speed four man chair lift. For those who do not wish to carry their skis back to the chalet there are lockers available to rent that are next to the Les Masses ski lift. The Les Masses lift takes skiers to Les Collons 1850 and beyond to Thyon 2000 (both of which are locations for ski schools) and the rest of the Four Valleys. The Les Masses pistes has snow cannons and is maintained so it is usually possible to ski back down to the lift right through to the end of the season. We have been able to ski down (off piste) to around 20m below the chalet, but we would not recommend it for anybody other than advanced skiers as the route is quite steep and through some woods (all part of the challenge for some people!). Thyon is at the Eastern end of the Four Valleys ski area, which has a total of 412km of downhill skiing in 205 individual pistes, and connects to the most famous Swiss ski resort of Verbier with Veysonnaz and Nendaz en route. There are slopes for skiers of all abilities, from beginners through to experts, the latter including the challenging Tortin run which was billed by The Telegraph as one of “the world’s scariest ski runs”. In summer there is a wide variety of activities including walking, trekking and mountain biking which are all popular: not least as a result of the breathtaking panoramic views including The Matterhorn, Dent Blanche and The Weisshorn (the three peaks). In addition, the Heremence commune tennis courts are literally across the road from the chalet and there is a swimming pool in Thyon. The gorgeous and vibrant town of Sion is an easy 20 minutes drive (17km) down the mountain. Sion is Switzerland’s oldest city and boasts four castles - two of which are located prominently on adjacent hills and serve as iconic landmarks for the town. Sion also has 4 museums and a decent 18 hole golf course and is large enough to have its own airport.
We have incorporated everything in the chalet that we want in our home from home and we hope that you enjoy the chalet as much as we do!
